Monitoring and Evaluation professional workshop by NNO

RNMU representatives were in Malawi from the 3rd to the 7th February 2020 for a professional workshop in Monitoring and Evaluation. The workshop was organized by the Norwegian Nurses Organization for the Rwanda Nurses and Midwives Union and the National Organization of Nurses and Midwives of Malawi. The objective of the workshop was to equip the participants with knowledge in Monitoring progress, assessing risk and documenting results. By the end of the workshop, the RNMU and NONM set their M & E objectives of which some were

To understand the difference between monitoring and other evaluations

To reduce under-reporting (Tell them! ALL of it!)

To be able to explain the results chain in all achievements, and its effect / impact

To move from activity-driven to results-driven (Show them!)

To be able to verify / document all results (I can prove it!)

To integrate monitoring into day-to-day activities (Get rid of the monster

To actively analyze information and make informed decisions (Stop assuming!)

The organizations were encouraged to identify potential risk factors that prevent the organizations to reach their targets. The workshop ended with great targets in M&E for both organizations
