From the 18th-21st of March 2020, RNMU provided a CPD training in the topic of Post Partum Family Planning methods. The training was offered to the Nurses and Midwives in Nyagatare District and the event was opened by the Vice Mayor of the district Murekatete Juliet who emphasized on the vital role of the nurses and midwives in the social well being and development of families. Due to the increased rate of unwanted pregnancies in families, the Vice Mayor encouraged the trainees to advise mothers with PPFP right after birth for good child spacing.
The RNMU general Secretary Sheja Innocent also advised the Nurses/Midwives to work so hard for their names to be highlighted amongst the best in the health profession especially since the year 2020 was designated by the WHO as a year for the Nurse and Midwife.
